Campbell Live beats TV One – first time ever

Campbell Live last night beat the TV One 7pm show Seven Sharp overall audience for the first time since Campbell Live began in 2005.

It is also the first time TV3 has ever beaten TV One in the 7pm weekday slot since TV3 began in November 1989.

Seven Sharp took another hit in the ratings on Tuesday night after a short recovery in Monday’s show, according to overnight ratings from Nielsen TAM.

However, the actual level of support varies widely, and many manufacturers have opted to roll out their own branded solutions on top of DLNA ??? but even those see little use from consumers.

It???s not too late for yet one more 2012 year-in-review report, and today???s latest addition comes from Nielsen, which examined how Americans have been consuming content over the course of the past year. The report found that of the 289 million U.S. TV owners, 119 million own four or more television sets, making TV still the device to beat when it comes to watching and recording programs, among other things.

The TV owning audience can also be further split up by how they access their programing and what sort of things they use their TV for, besides live viewing.

“TV” in this context appears to refer to the large stand-alone monitor that comes with a receiver built in. Highlight, “broadcast/over-the-air only is down from 16% in 2003 to 9%”

As for the TV shows such as Homeland and others hits, there is not justification whatsoever to preserve this calendar archaism. They should be made universally available from the day when they are aired on TV, period. Or customers will vote with their mouse anyway and find the right file-sharing sites.

The ???Industry??? fails to assess three shifts here.

Hollywood execs would be surprised to see how well young (potential) audiences abroad know about their productions months before seeing them.

???And finally, technology is definitely on the side of the foreign consumer: Better connectivity (expect 5 minutes to download an episode), high definition image, great sound??? And mobility (just take a high-speed train in Europe and see how many are watching videos on their tablets).
